Lowest of the Low
Yeah, this blows, but it's going to be necessary: for the time being, comments on all greenideas blogs will have to be approved by Kev or I before they go up on the site. We're getting all kinds of comment spam, and this is the best stop-gap measure I can think of (or have the time to implelement).
Kevin has speculated elsewhere on how spammers com into being, but i'd now like to offer an alternative account:
Some megalomaniacal foreign despot (possibly Doctor Doom) is recruiting the most wretched drunken pedophiles in Bangkok (a place where a mere one night will make a hard man humble), wresting the opium pipes from their nearly useless limbs, forcing them to read E-Mail for Assholes, and chaining them to 386s in some sort of office park/salt mine in Karachi. They then set upon the internet to hawk their genital enhancers and userous mortgages. At first, even they feel shame at what they're being forced to do, but the misery of their environs eventually erodes the final scraps of their humanity, and they pass the rest of their short lives ravaging innocent inboxes with Dionysian glee. Then their bodies are sold for use in Chicken McNuggets and tennis ball fuzz.
Either that, or wireless connectivity has developed to the point that they can now get Wi-Fi access in Hell, and l:ow c0$t v14gr4 is Lucifer's opening salvo in an all-out war on God's creation.
